Adedamola Adefolahan (born 5 February 1996), better known by his stage name, Fireboy DML, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter from Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Fireboy began performing as a member of his local church choir as his passion for music grew throughout his childhood. Key modern inspirations in his life were American vocalist Jon Bellion and Passenger. He rose to prominence with his track “Jealous.” With his newfound success, Fireboy released his debut studio album, Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps, which only served to highlight his incredible songwriting range.

He later on, released his second studio album APOLLO on August 20, 2020, to rave acclaim from music fans owing to its R&B character that blended nicely with the Afro-inspired sounds.

Fireboy debuted his smash single “Peru” in July 2021, which gained him notoriety and a large fan base after reaching number one on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart. Following the song’s success, Fireboy released a remix version with Ed Sheeran, which likewise reached #1 on the Billboard 100. On February 11, 2022, he released another remix of “Peru,” this time featuring vocals from 21 Savage.

On March 24, 2022, Fireboy released his second song off his highly anticipated album, “Playboy,” which shows Fireboy’s Playboy nature when it comes to ladies. On July 14, 2022, he released his third single, “Bandana,” in which Fireboys employs his Yoruban language and the track’s topic demonstrates Fireboy’s respect for his culture and homeland.

On August 5, 2022, he released his highly anticipated album, Playboy, which had been heavily hyped before its release date. The album reached #123 on the Billboard 200 during its first week.
