Daron Malakian and Scars On Broadway

Artist

Scars on Broadway is an American rock band founded by vocalist/guitarist Daron Malakian, best known for his role in the famed Armenian-American rock/metal band System of a Down. They were formed shortly after the release of SOAD’s album duo Mezmerize and Hypnotize in 2005, which was around the same time SOAD announced their hiatus to allow all the members to rest and spread their wings creatively. Originally, SOAD bassist Shavo Odadjian was announced to be part of the band, but after some time that turned out not to be the case, instead involving SOAD drummer John Dolmayan.

They have released one self-titled album in 2008 and a second album that was supposed to be released in early 2013, but ended up stuck in development hell. In 2018, the band was renamed Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway. The second album, now known as Dictator, was released on July 20, 2018, consisting of songs played entirely by Malakian and recorded in under 10 days in 2012.
