Raymond John Pepperell, better known as East Bay Ray, is best known as the guitarist who brought his surf, rockabilly, jazz, psychadelic and film score influences to the The Dead Kennedys, setting the band’s sound apart from other contemporary hardcore punks.

Ray has also played with Cheikha Rimitti, Skrapyard, Amanda Palmer, (hed) PE and The Killer Smiles, among others.
