Gregg Rolie

Artist

Born on June 17, 1947 in Seattle, Washington, Greg Rolie was the lead singer and keyboardist of Santana. He gained fame when Santana became famous at Woodstock in 1969.

He left Santana in 1971 when he and Carlos Santana wanted to take the band in a different direction. Leaving with ex-Santana guitarist Neal Schon to join Journey in 1973, he became the lead vocalist there. He left Journey in 1980 and pursued a solo career for the decade.

Later, in 1991, he formed The Storm. The Storm lost popularity in the mid 90’s, and eventually fell apart. Today, Rolie tours with Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band.
