“James Joint” is named after one of Rihanna’s co-writers, James Fauntleroy. He confirmed on Twitter that the track was named for him:

Fauntleroy and Rihanna previously worked together on a number of tracks from Rated R, including the singles “Te Amo” and “Wait Your Turn.”
She spoke about the song during her V Magazine cover shoot, saying:
Dude, I’m in love with my interludes. This one called ‘James Joint’ is on constant repeat.
This song was released via RiRi’s website on April 21st, 2015 in celebration of 4/20.
