Bad Girl

Bad Girl

The Miracles

“Bad Girl” was the first single ever to be released by the group, and was the first single to be released on the then newly-established Motown Records label. Smokey Robinson was billed on the single as “Bill Smokey Robinson,” who at that point was heading to the top of the charts at just 19-years-old.

There were only so many singles pressed under the Motown label before it was licensed to Chess Records to release nationally. The song was barely able to nudge it’s way in to the Top 100 singles, later climbing its way to the top. This was the first and last time The Miracles would be featured on Motown Records, as they would spend the rest of their time on the Tamla label.
