Be My Baby

Be My Baby

The Ronettes

Released in August 1963, “Be My Baby” is the most famous song of The Ronettes and perhaps one of the most popular songs of the sixties.

The song was inducted to the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999 and Rolling Stone listed it as the 22nd best song of all time.

“Be My Baby” is one of the main and finest examples of Ronette’s member Ronnie’s husband Phil Spector’s ‘Wall of Sound’ production, which consists on a large-scale recording of multiple session musicians to create an orchestra-type of sound that garnishes the instrumental of the song. Another exemple of this type of production can be found on one the band’s most famous songs, the Christmas hit “Sleigh Ride”.
