The 15th track on Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager and the first song off the final act of the album, ‘Act 5: You Live, You Learn.’

Cudi realizes that he will forever be alone in some way and that he has to fight on his own the battles life throws at him. It’s a sad song, but it’s consoling at the same time.

Actually, “All Along” was meant to be the last track on the album, but Cudi then recorded three more songs: “Don’t Play This Song”, “Ghost!”, and “Trapped In My Mind”. He felt like these songs made a better conclusion of the story and that “All Along” would have been “a very sad song to end an album”.
