beibs in the trap

Travis Scott (Ft. NAV)

Travis Scott enlists up-and-coming Canadian rapper and record producer NAV on “beibs in the trap,” a standout track from Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight. The song is solely produced by NAV and was originally his record, made before his career started.

The title of the song is a misspelled abbreviation of Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Bieber, who NAV uses to describe the white color of cocaine in the song and even name-drops Bieber in the first verse. It could also be a nod to Nicki Minaj’s May 2012 single “Beez in the Trap,” from her chart-topping sophomore studio album, Pink Friday, but it is clearly a huge nod to Travis Scott’s album title.

The official music video for “beibs in the trap” was released on December 28, 2016. Showing both Travis Scott and NAV in a hangar with a person doing “donuts” in a Lamborghini, its release date coincides with NAV’s manager Cash’s 33rd birthday.
