In hip-hop, “the juice” is credibility, respect, or power in the street. Chance The Rapper used the term in 2013, but it has been around for decades, originating in movie Juice, starring 2Pac, in 1992.

Game borrows the final line of the movie, “You got the juice now,” spoken by a crowd member after character Q fails to save the life of his assailant Bishop. It’s a sign of respect and power, something Q dismissed.

Game embraces it, and describes situations in his past that gave him “the juice.” When he was shot 5 times, when Dr. Dre signed him, and when he bought his mother a Range Rover.

Fun fact: The Game was already featured on a song of the same name by AD.
