“Can’t Call It” is a posse track by Spillage Village. On the song, JID and EARTHGANG are joined by J. Cole and Bas of Dreamville Records. They each rap about their struggles and growth.

The track was first released on DJ Khaled’s July 2016 album, Major Key, as “Jermaine’s Interlude.” It used the same instrumental and chorus as the complete version, but it instead included a single verse from Cole. EARTHGANG also sang the interlude’s refrain.

The complete version was released in November of 2016 as a single for Bears Like This Too Much. In this version, J. Cole’s verse from “Jermaine’s Interlude” is omitted, but his chorus remains intact. Instead, JID, EARTHGANG, and Bas all provide extensive verses.

EARTHGANG explained the events surrounding this collaboration in this annotation. They also revealed that JordxnBryant and Hollywood JB had originally rapped on the song but were ultimately removed.

Within ten months of this song’s release, both JID and EARTHGANG were signed to Dreamville.
