I Have Questions

Camila Cabello

“I Have Questions” is a single by Camila Cabello, intended to be on her debut self-titled album but was scrapped when the theme was altered. The track was born in late 2015/early 2016, whilst still touring with Fifth Harmony, and wasn’t lyrically finished until a year later.
“I Have Questions” can be seen as the precedent to Camila’s life after the release of “Real Friends” where Camila’s search for new friendships after leaving her unhealthy friends behind, while in this track she confronts her supposed friends for the harm they’ve done to her.

She teased the song with this tweet:

The track was released a promotional single on May 22, 2017, along with a lyric video. The beginning of the song is also featured on the music video of “Crying in the Club”.

She has stated that “I Have Questions” is about friendship, not a romantic relationship:

I had a friend and we were so close and, literally like a day after, we didn’t even know each other.

In an interview to Flaunt, Camila said she believed that the end of a friendship hurts more than a romantic break-up:

In a romantic relationship you think, this is amazing, this is beautiful, I love this person, but there’s a part of you that’s always prepared for it to end. I feel with a friendship you think it’s going to last forever. You start to consider that person like your family and so you don’t see an end to that. So when it’s like a shocking or abrupt ending that’s worse.
