The lead single of the soundtrack to the 2000 action film Romeo Must Die, later released as the 15th track of Aaliyah’s 2001 self-titled album. “Try Again” is about a woman who tries to encourage a guy she’s dating to “try again” in asking her out if it didn’t work out the first time, and not give up on the relationship before it gets a chance to start.

“Try Again” is one of Aaliyah’s biggest hits, becoming the first track to top the US Billboard Hot 100 chart on the strength of its radio airplay alone and receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 43rd Grammy Awards.
