The original “Busy” was the first single promoting Saba’s second studio album, CARE FOR ME. The rapper announced its release after deleting all of the previous photos on his Instagram page and posting a new photo of himself sporting a new hair cut with the caption:

“I AM VERY BUSY, I WILL HIT YOU BACK LATER”

The post was then followed up by a snippet of the music video two days after. The snippet was one of his first social media appearances since he took a social media hiatus after the release of Bucket List Project.

With the release of CARE FOR ME, the original “Busy” was a part of a two-part track—"BUSY / SIRENS.“ theMIND was also given a closing verse in the album version, which leads into "Sirens.”

In this song, Saba reveals the feelings and thoughts he’s been dealing with over the past couple of years since his cousin and fellow Pivot Gang member John Walt’s tragic murder in early 2017.

The two-part track is one of Saba’s most revealing and uncut performances, and its rawness reveals hints about the tone of the album.
