One of the more experimental tracks on Chuck Person’s Eccojams Vol. 1 and the second to sample more than a single song, “A8” represents the end of the original cassette’s first side. It samples “My Love Is Waiting” by Marvin Gaye, then goes into “Hearsay” by Alexander O'Neal.

As a two-sample song, the track divides into roughly two halves, with the first being a chopped and screwed declaration of hope for the future and lamentation over a lost love, while the second half starts off as a straightforward interrogation that dissolves into static. The first sample represents the return to the most-sampled year on the album (1982), while the second features the return of producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, who produced tracks sampled on the earlier “A4” and “A6”.
