“Break Ya Neck” is Busta’s first single from his 2001 album Genesis. The song was produced by Dr. Dre and Scott Storch, while the background vocals were done by Truth Hurts. The “give it away” part of the song is interpolated from the Red Hot Chili Peppers song “Give It Away.”

A showcase for Busta’s ability to spit incredibly fast, “Break Ya Neck” is considered a landmark track for both Busta’s work and speed rap in general. Watsky even used the song’s instrumental for his breakout track, “Pale Kid Raps Fast”.

The general theme of this song goes along the lines of “if you haven’t broken a bone while listening to music, you’re not doing it right.”
