“Knights of Malta” was the third song released off the Pumpkins' 10th studio album, Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. I / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun, after “Solara” and “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)”.

In contrast to the previously released tracks of new material in 2018, “Knights of Malta” differs from the band’s classic sound by using a choir, as well as boasting catchier pop sensibilities.

Like the rest of the album, the song was recorded by legendary producer Rick Rubin at Shangri-La Studios.
