Apple Blossom

The White Stripes

This track from the Stripes’s sophomore LP is a notable departure from the music that came before. Leading towards this track, the album features a simple but raw blending of blues and punk. This changes that, embracing a more of a soul vibe, while retaining that raw sound that encompasses the record.

Lyrically, the song has Jack encourages his lover to let him help with her problems. He doesn’t like that she’s sad and depressed, and will do anything to make her happy.

The track became notable in the band’s discography after being used in Quentin Tarantino’s 2015 film The Hateful Eight. Here is the scene that it shows up in.
