This previously unreleased song from the Flux recording era is technically an instrumental as Lum utilized a vocal sample from the band’s 1994 song Depression Glass. If you play “Asleep” backwards, you can make out the words “love and light” from Perry’s vocal, “promises of love and light.”

Love Spirals Downwards' song Promises on the album, Ever, used a sample of the singular world “promises” from the same line in Depression Glass.

“Asleep” originally appeared on a 1998 compilation by Precipice Recordings, which was a short-lived label run by Padraic Ogl of Black Tape for a Blue Girl and Thanatos fame.
