Aaliyah was a singer, actress, and model, with hits such as “Try Again” and At Your Best (You are Love). In this song, she represents being able to be a successful woman without having to sexualize yourself. She passed away at the age of 22 on August 25th 2001 from a plane crash on her way home after leaving the video shoot for her final music video, ‘Rock The Boat.’
