On April 4, 2020, Lil Bibby, Juice’s manager, replied to a fan on Instagram, confirming that the track would be on Juice’s first posthumous album.

On June 27, 2020, Gunna previewed the track during an Instagram story, hinting at his appearance on the song. Gezin, the song’s producer, previewed more of the track later that day. However, the final version removes Gunna from the track for unknown reasons.
