On “21,“ Polo G raps a quick-moving track about his fame-based lifestyle on his 21st birthday. Polo drops references to weaponry and expensive items to boast about his status in life.

Additionally, he pays homage to late rapper and friend Juice WRLD—who also appears on “Flex” from THE GOAT—within the track, expressing his dislike for drugs and addiction.

On January 12, 2020, six days after Polo’s 21st birthday, an extended snippet leaked on YouTube and Soundcloud.

On May 15, 2020, founder of Lyrical Lemonade and one of the most famous video producers in the music industry, Cole Bennett, teased that he was working on a project with Polo G. This would be their first collaboration together.

On June 13, 2020, Cole Bennett further teased the project by posting “21 video?” captioned on a picture of him and Polo G.

Two days later, on June 15, 2020, the official Lyrical Lemonade music video was released. Directed by Cole Bennett, the video, which is a true one-shot film with no cuts, finds Polo G dodging bullets and being chased down by a masked intruder. It also features multiple Juice WRLD references as a tribute to the late rapper.

Following the release, Cole Bennett spoke about Polo G and the production of the video:

[The music video is] a true one take, no cuts. polo is a star. thankful for everyone involved in this project.
