“HEARTBREAK ANNIVERSARY” is GIVĒON’s first release of 2020, also dropped on his 25th birthday, which is centered on the anniversary of a heartbreak. It serves as the second single to TAKE TIME.

GIVĒON stated that the song is written from the perspective of a close friend on an episode of Genius VERIFIED. The same perspective was used on his November 2019 hit single “LIKE I WANT YOU,” a previous single released from the EP.
