Don’t Wake Me Up

Chris Brown

“Don’t Wake Me Up” finds Chris clinging on to a past love, which he can now only experience while he’s asleep. The intro, spoken by Priscilla Renea, attests to this. While Chris is asleep, he is at his happiest with this girl, and he pleads to never be woken up because he doesn’t want to return to reality, where he’s no longer with this girl.

“Don’t Wake Me Up” is an upbeat EDM track co-produced by Benny Benassi, and was released as the fourth single from Fortune. The track was initially recorded for Madonna’s MDNA album; however, didn’t make the cut due to “time constraints.”

“Don’t Wake Me Up” charted well around the world, and was a top 10 hit in the United States.
