The song’s existence was first teased on January 4, 2024, when she was spotted wearing a plain black “yes, and?” sweatshirt. This immediately caught the attention of fans as it is not the first time that she has used clothing to tease a song.

On January 7, 2024, Ariana Grande finally confirmed the song’s title, release date, and cover art via an Instagram post. It was also confirmed by U.S. Radio Updater that the track’s produced by Ariana, Max Martin and ILYA, and the track “heavily interpolates” Madonna’s 1990 single “Vogue.”
