The song was recorded at the BORN PINK sessions, being one of the songs that ROSÉ and JENNIE worked on with Ryan Tedder in Los Angeles in June 2021, but the song was ultimately discarded from the album and released as the theme song for their mobile app, BLACKPINK: THE GAME.

The electrifying track instantly captivated fans when a 16-second snippet was unveiled on the login page of the game on May 17, 2023. Three months later, the music video was finally pre-released on August 23, and players who progressed past Chapter 1, Stage 7 could watch it exclusively in the BLACKPINK open world area. The song would later come out on streaming services two days later.
