Artist

Terry Ellis is a member of the R&B group En Vogue. She was put together with Maxine Jones, Cindy Herron, and Dawn Robinson to form the group in 1989 after a talent search in Oakland by producers Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy. She was the last member to join the group as it was originally envisioned as a trio. En Vogue released three platinum albums—Born to Sing (1990), Funky Divas (1992), and EV3 (1997)—and had multiple #1 R&B hits including “Hold On,” “My Lovin' (You’re Never Gonna Get It),” “Giving Him Something He Can Feel” and “Don’t Let Go (Love)” among others.

She appeared with En Vogue on the television shows In Living Color, Roc, and A Different World in 1993. In 1994, En Vogue appeared on the Top 3 platinum single “Whatta Man” by Salt-N-Pepa, and she released her debut solo album Southern Gal in 1995 featuring the single “Where Ever You Are,” which was written and produced by McElroy & Foster. En Vogue went on to release four more albums—Masterpiece Theatre in 2000, The Gift of Christmas in 2002, Soul Flower in 2004, and Electric Café in 2018.
