Matthew Christopher Grau (born December 13, 2004), better known by his stage name Matt Ox, is an American rapper from Philadelphia who originally gained online popularity with his 2017 single “Overwhelming.” He had been noted for his exceptionally young age at the time. Matt Ox works closely with the Philidelphia-based production group Working on Dying.

On March 16, 2018, Matt Ox was featured on XXXTentacion’s album ? through the song “$$$.” Matt released his debut album OX on October 30, 2018, being executive-produced by Working on Dying and featuring the likes of Chief Keef, KEY!, and Valee. It was released at the end of a campaign known as “Oxtober,” resulting in many singles and features, and finally the album.

Matt released a mixtape SWEET 16 in 2020. On February 12, 2021, on Chinese New Year for the Year of the Ox, Matt released the UNORTHODOX EP.

Matt released his second studio album, YEAR OF THE OX throughout the month of January 2022, dropping one of the 31 tracks each day. His first independent release, it boasts guest appearances from UnoTheActivist and Lancey Foux.
