Leesta

Artist

Lee Lowe, better known as Leesta, is an American producer and rapper from Homer, Alaska.

Lowe grew up playing drums before downloading FL Studio Mobile on his iPad in 2016 and beginning producing. He cites his biggest influences as a producer as TM88, Zaytoven, and Bighead. Throughout 2017 and 2018, Leesta became one of the most prominent producers in the underground, working with some of the scene’s biggest names in Summrs, Weiland, BOOFBOIICY, and Lil Raven. He developed a close relationship with SoundCloud legend Lil Tracy, for whom he produced multiple songs and arguably the artist’s most popular solo song in “Heart.”

Near the end of 2018, Leesta created a second SoundCloud to post songs as an artist, working under the alias, lilheartbreaker. He released four EPs throughout October of 2018, none of which are anywhere to be found as of 2023.

On March 30, 2019, Leesta released his first song under his primary alias, “Bag Chaser,” marking his official transition from producing to rapping. Following a handful of singles, Leesta would gain popularity on Twitter when he released a snippet of his new upcoming track, “Blitzing,” where he labeled himself as the “white Young Thug.” This incident would not be the only time that Leesta would stir up controversy around himself on Twitter, as later on, he would be mocked by rapper Lil Yachty for his resemblance to famous actor Michael Cera. Leesta, however, each time would release a song in response, which in turn has garnered him some of his biggest hits in “Blitzing” and “Lil Michael Cera.”

After spending the majority of 2019 and the first part of 2020 releasing singles, Leesta released his first mixtape and first overall project, Against Me, in July of 2020, to critical acclaim. His second project, Dedication, was released on November 1, 2020.
