“AP” serves as Pop Smoke’s first release of 2021 and as the lead single from the soundtrack of the film, Boogie, in which the late rapper made his acting debut, playing the character of Monk. The song comes exactly one week before the film’s theatrical release. The title of the track stands for the Swiss watch manufacturing company Audemars Piguet. On the song, Pop Smoke raps about his lavish lifestyle and boasts about expensive items in his possession like drugs, jewelry, and weaponry.

This track was recorded in August of 2019 and it was first teased by Rich The Kid in an Instagram live in April 2020, teasing a version of the song where he was featured. A portion of the already completed music video later leaked online and contained a part of Pop Smoke’s vocals. Rich is not featured on the official song so it is unknown if the original music video will ever be released. The song’s release was announced on February 24, 2021. A music video for the track was released on March 17, 2021.
