“Another One Of Me” marks the reunion between longtime collaborators French Montana and The Weeknd. The track includes an additional verse from 21 Savage and adlibs from none other than P. Diddy.

After being tossed away as a Kiss Land throw-away, Abel reworked the song with French during their 2016 studio sessions, which produced other tracks, including “Wow” and “A Lie”.

The song was thought to be scrapped until it would later be played on Episode 9 of The Weeknd’s radio show Memento Mori, as a part of his After Hours rollout.

Later on, in November of 2021, the track came up during French Montana’s HOT97 interview, in which he mentioned Diddy’s initial reaction of “knowing it was a hit” after hearing it, as well as confirming 21 Savage’s feature placement on the song.

After not releasing throughout 2022, the song was again thought to be scrapped, until Abel performed it on August 4th, 2023, while on tour in Germany. Abel took to Instagram Stories the following day to speak on the song and it’s upcoming release. saying:

“Another One of Me”… a song I wrote in 2012 with only one artist in mind… @diddy . I always imagined it being an iconic Bad Boy record. Feeling like a young @iammariowinans on this one… Coming soon !

The track has been widely marketed as “The Weeknd’s last collab of his career” across social media platforms.

The track was released on Diddy’s album The Love Album: Off The Grid on September 15th, 2023, accompanied with it’s music video.
