Jordan Terrell Carter (born September 13, 1995) and Troy Vashon Donte Lane (born April 13, 1996), respectively popularly known as Playboi Carti and UnoTheActivist, are recording artists born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Fairburn, Georgia. They were close family friend, formerly known as 2900 in reference to a block in Georgia.

Carti and Uno were part of Atlanta-based group TFZ, formed in 2011. They later formed Splur Gang with Thouxanbanfauni in 2013, releasing multiple collaborative singles since 2015. They were also part of AWGE’s Wavy Wednesdays project in early 2016 with the collaborative singles “WHAT” and “Vlone Thug.” According to record producer Pi'erre Bourne, Carti and Uno recorded multiple collaborative songs in March 2017. One of them, “You and Me,” was leaked in 2019.

Carti and Uno are often credited for their contributions to SoundCloud hip-hop. They are both largely influenced by Chief Keef, whose influence can be heard in their 2014-2015 music, and Young Thug, whose influence can be heard in their 2017-2020 music.
