Dean Blunt

Dean Blunt

Artist

Roy Nnawuchi, known professionally as Dean Blunt, is a British singer-songwriter, producer, director, screenwriter, and label owner. He is best known for his work with A$AP Rocky, as well as being a former member of avant-garde group Hype Williams, with Inga Copeland. Additionally, he has collaborated with artists like Yung Lean, Arca, Lil Yachty, and more.

He started his career as a founder of London rock band Graffiti Island, eventually evolving with hypnagogic R&B group Blue Iverson, experimental UK hip-hop act Babyfather, and the art rock group Bo Khat Eternal Troof Family Band. Furthermore, Blunt has operated under many solo names throughout his career, such as Paradise Sisters, Ramirez, @jesuschrist3000ADHD, Mr Audrey Horne, and Roy Bundy, just to name a few.

Blunt’s career has been filled with intentional obfuscation and confusion, through things like sending his bodyguard to accept the Philip Hall Radar Award in his place at the 2015 NME Awards, listing an estate agent’s marijuana-filled Mini Cooper on eBay, or making media guests check in to concerts under pre-mailed aliases in 2016.

His label WORLD MUSIC is home to artists like Yakub, NINA, Junior Demon, 1995 epilepsy, bar italia, and Stubborn. There is virtually no information about the artists available, but some are suspected to be Blunt and Mica Levi operating under pseudonyms.
