NewJeans (뉴진스) is a South Korean teenage girl group, which debuted on July 22, 2022 under ADOR. It consists of five members: Hanni, Minji, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.

In July 2019, HYBE (then BigHit Entertainment) announced that Min Hee Jin will join the company and will lead a new girl group project held together by BigHit and Source Music via the Plus Global Audition. In late 2021, HYBE revealed that the group will debut in 2022 under the new independent subsidiary label, ADOR, and Min as the CEO of it.

As a part of their pre-debut activities, several group members were active in the entertainment industry, including Hyein being a member of Play With Me Club, while Hanni and Minji appeared in the music video for BTS' “Permission to Dance”.

On July 22, 2022, “Attention” was released as NewJeans' debut song. Following that, the group released their second lead track, “Hype Boy,” and a B-side, “Hurt.”

The group released their debut, eponymous EP and the third lead single from it, “Cookie,” on August 1, 2022. With the EP, they set the record for the highest opening week sales for a girl group’s debut album in South Korea (over 300,000 album sales in the first week of its release).

Following their debut, NewJeans won 2022 The Fact Music Award in a Next Leader category and were also nominated for Best Female Rookie award at the 2022 Genie Music Awards.

On October 18 of the same year, ADOR confirmed that the group was preparing for their first-ever comeback. The pre-release single, “Ditto,” was released the next day on December 19, along with two music videos and followed later on by their first album, OMG.

In July 2023, NewJeans released the two pre-release singles, “Super Shy,” and “New Jeans,” to their second mini-album, Get Up. Surprisingly, the single, “New Jeans” and the Get Up album was in collaboration with The Powerpuff Girls for their 25th anniversary.
