On “IMY2,” which stands for “I miss you too,” Drake enlists Kid Cudi, marking the duo’s first collaboration since Kanye West’s 2010 track “All of the Lights,” on which they both contributed vocals.

The two artists have a storied history. In 2009, Cudi claimed that Drake wanted to remix his breakout hit “Day ‘N’ Nite,” which Cudi declined. That same year, Drake cameoed in the music video for Cudi’s track “Pursuit of Happiness.” Years later, amid Cudi’s battle with mental health, the pair exchanged disses, culminating in Drake releasing “Two Birds, One Stone,” on which he took shots at Cudi.

With Drake and Cudi having mended their friendship, the introspective track sees both artists expressing sentiments of growth and progression beyond the mistakes of their past.

The song’s introduction features posthumous vocals from Juice WRLD, who passed away in December 2019. Whilst Drake and Juice didn’t collaborate while Juice was alive, Drake paid tribute to the late artist via Instagram following his death.
